IMNDA announced as Charity Partner
We are delighted to announce The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) as our second charity partner for the Clann na nGael ‘Win A Retro VW Camper’ fundraiser.
The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) is the only organisation of its kind providing care and support to people with motor neurone disease, their families, friends and caregivers.
The organisation enables people with MND to live as active independent citizens. They empower them to make informed decisions and advocate on their behalf to ensure people with MND have a voice, both nationally and locally.

Pictured at the announcement were Emmet Durney (Men’s Senior Manager), Eithne Cawley (IMNDA), Damien Durney (Treasurer) and Gerry Pettit (Chairman).
Emmet and Damien’s mother, Annette, sadly passed away in recent weeks from Motor Neurones. Emmet spoke at the announcement about the support Annette and the Durney family received during her illness;
“When my mother was diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease in May of last year, we immediately contacted and registered with the IMNDA. Almost immediately, the district nurse, Eithne Cawley, visited my mother to assess the situation. When we made the decision to keep Annette at home, she facilitated this in every way she possibly could, including providing a chair lift and making us aware of all services and medication available to us. Eithne’s services were invaluable during my mother’s illness until she passed away and Eithne was always available to assist us in any way she could.
The IMNDA are underfunded and all support is hugely accepted. We are more than delighted to be associated with this wonderful organisation”.
